In this unique 4 hour pop up class, you will get to know your camera, from setting it up in depth, to mastering its controls.

You will gain knowledge on capturing photographs effectively, including mastering the techniques of focusing and recomposing. Explore the art of utilizing composition to ensure proper photography. Delve into the intricacies of apertures, with a comprehensive explanation of depth of field. Understand the mechanics of shutter speeds, unraveling the speed of shutter opening and closing. Learn the proper utilization of your built-in flash. Additionally, discover the process of reviewing your photographs and receive personalized one-on-one assistance with your camera.

Course outline:

* Setting up your camera in depth
* Focusing Set up
* Understanding menus
* Getting to know the control dials on your camera
* Taking a photograph properly
* To focus and recompose
* Use composition to really make your photographs stand out
* Different camera modes; Program, Manual, Aperture and Shutter speed modes
* Apertures - Depth of Field explained
* Shutter speeds - speed of shutter opening and closing explained, taking photographs with different shutter speeds slow to fast
* How to use your built in flash properly
* Playing back your photograph(s)
* One to one individual help with your camera


Materials

Please bring your camera instructions and guides;
If you have either an instruction manual in a paper booklet (preferable), and or quick guide or your instruction manual (preferable), and or guide in digital form on your tablet or phone i.e. PDF format (the Tutor suggests emailing the link or actual PDF of your instruction guide(s) to yourself prior to the workshop).

Any adjustable digital camera; i.e. Compact, Bridge, Digital SLR, Four Thirds or Mirrorless camera with the following;

Any adjustable digital camera; i.e. Compact, Bridge, DSLR or 4,3RDS, Mirrorless camera with the following;
*RAW,JPEG image capability
*adjustable ISO, film speed settings
*with adjustable exposure settings; shutter, aperture and manual exposure i.e. S or TV, A or AV and M,
*with manual- auto focus capability
*also if your camera has adjustable picture control, picture style settings i.e. monochrome standard, neutral etc

Any lenses you have for your camera;
Wide to telephoto lens(es),zoom(s) and or standard lens(es) with or without manual, auto focus
Batterie(s) and memory card(s);
*Batterie(s) charged and ready x 2 if you have them
*Memory card(s) x 2 are preferable
Please note; Make sure you have fully charged your batterie(s) even if they are at half or one third, as your camera will be ON for the most of this class

What to wear:
Depending on the weather - additional weather clothing items as follows;
*Cooler wet; a warm, waterproof jacket clothing, mini umbrella
*Warmer; hat, sunscreen and comfortable clothing
*Closed in - sensible footwear for your safety, acceptable; closed walking, running shoes, hiking boots with rubber soles
Additional items:
* Bug repellent and sunscreen
* Please bring cash, credit card for coffee , drinks snacks , brunch, lunch etc
* your own water and snacks
* Seat cushion
* Notepad and pen
* Glasses if you need them

Please note;
The cost of refreshments etc, getting to and from, Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan, are not included in the cost of this pop up workshop.
